The seven Mercury astronauts were pioneers, their courage and dedication built a foundation for many successes in later space programs.
The Mercury Seven astronauts conceived of a place where space travelers could be remembered and in May 1990, these visions were realized when the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame officially opened outside Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.
