Exactly 50 years ago on July 20, the world heard these famous words as Neil Armstrong lowered onto the surface of the Moon: “That's one small step for (a) man, one giant leap for mankind.” Join Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in honoring this unprecedented moment not only experienced by Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, but the entire world.
Throughout the day at the visitor complex, all guests can relive this incredible moment with daily admission or through an exclusive opportunity available with an event ticket purchased in addition to daily admission.
Lunar Landing Add-On Enhancement:
Guests are invited to join the visitor complex in the Debus Conference Facility for an enhanced Moon landing event. There, enjoy hors d’oeuvres while watching historic lunar landing footage. Take home a Moon Pie in a commemorative tin after witnessing the unveiling of the world’s largest Moon Pie! This package also includes one (1) unlocked digital photo and three photo opportunities: pose with Spaceperson, place yourself on the Moon and get up close to Neil Armstrong’s wax figure provided by Madame Tussauds. Finally, special commemorative gifts will be provided honoring this anniversary.

There are also celebrations included with daily admission or an annual pass! Get up close to Neil Armstrong’s actual blue Corvette and a red Corvette signed by Armstrong and 44 other astronauts. These automobiles will be on display in front of Heroes & Legends, welcoming you into the visitor complex. You can view footage of the Moon landing and those iconic first steps throughout the day in the Rocket Garden, and at 10:00 AM, 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM, a visitor complex communicator will guide you through the historic landing events and answer any questions. Be sure to grab a throwback Pepsi® hand fan to keep cool.
For future space explorers, there will be a Kid’s Activity Area in the Rocket Garden as well. There, they will enjoy hands-on, engaging activities. There will also be other fun giveaways for kids on a first come basis. A DJ will also be around to spin 1960s classics throughout the day, and will host hula hoop contest and offer trivia and fun Apollo facts at 11:00 AM and 2:30 PM.
