Inclement Weather Warnings
Florida is known for its frequent lightning storms, especially in the summer months. While at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, guests will be asked to adhere to NASA protocol in the event of inclement weather. You may hear visitor complex crewmembers call a “Phase 2,” meaning lightning is present or imminent in the immediate area. In the event of inclement weather, including cloud to ground lightning, guests will be asked to seek shelter or remain indoors until the storm passes.
