Michael T. Good

Lieutenant Mike Good, a retired U.S. Air Force lieutenant and NASA astronaut, spent over 25 days in space enhancing the Hubble Space Telescope and International Space Station and later led commercial spaceflight initiatives.

Lieutenant Mike Good joined NASA as a mission specialist in 2000. Lt. Good flew on two space shuttle missions, spending a total of over 25 days in space. On STS-125 in 2009, the final Hubble servicing mission, he logged nearly 16 hours of EVA during two spacewalks. His work included installing new scientific instruments, replacing gyroscopes, and upgrading the telescope’s batteries, significantly extending Hubble’s operational life. On STS-132 in 2010, he performed two additional spacewalks and installed crucial components on the International Space Station.

After his space missions, Lt. Good served as NASA Liaison to Air Force Space Command and later as Assistant Program Manager in the Commercial Crew Program, where he played a key role in advancing commercial spaceflight initiatives. He retired from NASA in 2019 and joined Blue Origin as Director of Crew Integration, supporting various human spaceflight programs, until his retirement in September 2024.
